Nynke grew up in a musical, creative and intellectual family. At the age of six, she had two great passions: violin and ballet. In both she had extended classical training for over ten years. Through time, she moved from classical music to folk, taking lessons from Marius Greiner, a famous fiddler from the north of the Netherlands.
At that time, she played almost everything from anywhere, except Irish/Scottish music. Her passion for Irish/Scottish music started when she got a job as a barmaid in Traditional Irish Music Bar O’Ceallaigh in Groningen (NL). She started to take lessons from different Irish fiddlers and now she has played for over twenty years in different Celtic folk formations, like the Doggy Few and as a guest member of the Assassenachs.
